I have thought seriously about starting a business. I had this fantastic idea for starting a home business. I am of course not going to tell you what it is because there is still a good chance that I will be starting a business in the future. But I am going to tell you about my experiences with starting a business from scratch so that maybe it will help others when they are staring up a business.

Starting a business pro et contra

So what are the pros and cons or pro et contra, if you want to be fancy, of starting a business? The pros of starting a business are easy really aren’t they? No boss. That’s enough for some people who have experienced bosses like mine in their lifetime. However if you require another pro to starting your own business it is that all of the profit that you make is your own. Your hard work is rewarded with any luck in a proportional way. A third pro of starting a business is that you can choose the business idea so you have a better chance of enjoying whatever it is that you’re doing. The cons of starting your own business are that, if the business fails, you will really suffer financially. You cannot just quit and find another job. So you really want to make sure that you have thought your business idea through before starting your own business. What I said before about hopefully having your hard work rewarded works against you here – you could work extremely hard and end up worse off financially than you were before starting you r own business. Some people also complain that after starting a business they no longer had workmates they can talk to and bounce ideas off and gossip with etc.

Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is very important for economic growth so the way that I see it, starting your own business is not only good for you but good for your community at large. Entrepreneurship can also be extremely lucrative. If you are successful at starting your own business, you are in a position to make much more money than you would be working for somebody else no matter how high flying and important your job is. The possibilities with entrepreneurship are practically endless. Of course whilst I don’t like to dampen anybody’s spirits, you should probably be reminded that most people fail a starting a business. So before starting a business ensure that you have thought through your idea thoroughly and are confident that it is a fantastic business idea and that you have the business skills to back it up.
